The characteristics I have today that has allowed me to work with the Big Four are all due to my years at Icknield High School. The school has built the foundation for the person I am today. As cheesy as it sounds, don’t give up. Protecting your mental health is equally as important as doing your best in whatever you do. If you think you want to be a lawyer, do it! Try and get some experience, even if it is a small law firm down the road from where you live. There are legal bloggers everywhere on the internet who can sometimes glorify the profession, find very honest accounts of what it is like to be a law student/ professional and make an informed choice! I’ve got a blog in which I write about my honest journey into the legal profession.

Ensure to explore new opportunities wherever possible, expanding on your own comfort zone - you never know how much of a positive impact an experience can end up having in developing yourself as a person, a future individual as well as your outlook on life, both personal and in academia. Enjoy studying by making it work for you, find interests and seek guidance on how you can find out more about topics, beyond the thresholds of the classroom or a given curriculum. Have fun, make new friendships, find ways to connect. Work smart and harbour optimism always. It won't be easy but it will be worth it : )

Keep trying but also learn to give yourself some much needed self-care at times too. The days you seem to be getting 'nothing' done are refreshing you for the days you will seem to be getting 'everything' done.

Best Wishes - You can do it!

Be proactive rather than reactive! It may seem a long way away before you decide what you want to do, but it's important to assess your options in advance. If there is a career which you may like to do, it's worth checking whether it requires a specific course at university, and what you need to study at college/sixth form to do that course. Then look to see what grades you need in your GCSEs to be able to do those subjects at college/sixth form. Use this as motivation to work hard and achieve your goals!
