Théâtre français dans Icknield

On Thursday 26th November the School Hall was brought to life by the Onatti Production Team where they performed the play ‘Les Garcon’, to our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students. The production which lasted an hour was performed entirely in French. The play was modern and written especially for students learning French as it was pitched at the perfect level to compliment language learning. The students were engaged throughout the production and it was a great opportunity for them to practice their French listening and understanding skills.

Les Garcon is a play about a girl called Natalie who is babysitting 2 year old Bruno for M. and Madame Dulin while they go out to a fancy dress party. When Natalie arrives M.Dulin explains to Natalie where everything is, how everything works, what Bruno likes and what Bruno doesn’t like. He finally leaves, but not before he shows her and incredibly long list of emergency numbers. Natalie’s quiet evening is soon interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Tristan, her ex-boyfriend. He has come to plead with her to get back to get back together. Reluctantly she invites him to stay and babysit with her. After too much play and far too many crisps both Bruno and Tristan are sick and Natalie finds herself looking after two boys! Whilst clearing up Natalie sees a text on Tristan’s phone from one of his ex-girlfriends. They argue and she storms out leaving Tristan alone with the baby!

The theatre visit was a beneficial and worthwhile experience to those students involved and we hope to welcome back the theatre company in the future.
