Icknield High School is a highly successful 11-16 mixed Academy with an excellent reputation, situated in pleasant grounds on the northern outskirts of town. TEACHER OF SCIENCE MPS/UPS

Required for September 2017

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious, inspirational and highly motivated Science Teacher to join our well-resourced Science department.

Science is a popular subject and students achieve consistently good results in their science GCSEs, with 95% achieving A* – C grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and for the students entered for Core and Additional Science 70% achieving an A* – C for both science subjects in 2016.

The successful candidate will be able to display and promote excellence in teaching and learning and have the potential to make a real difference to the outcomes of our students.

Teacher of Food Technology

Curriculum Leader Humanities

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational specialist to lead, manage and assist with the further development of our well-resourced Humanities department.

Teacher with an interest & experience of HID students

Required for September 2017

We are seeking to appoint an experienced & enthusiastic Teacher to work with our students, aged 11 to 16, who have hearing impairment.

The successful applicant will oversee the day to day running of the Local Authority Hearing Impaired Provision within the school.

You will need to be a qualified Teacher, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Deaf Education/Education (Hearing Impaired) would be desirable but not essential.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

 A commitment to the academic progress and emotional well-being of all students within the provision.

A commitment to ensuring the Hearing Impaired provision meets Quality Standards as set by the Local Authority.

Ability to work in partnership with class teachers and other staff in planning for effective curriculum delivery,
including the provision of training for Deaf Awareness and strategies to meet specific needs.

Ability to provide professional development for all staff working with Deaf and Hearing Impaired students.

Salary for this position is on the Teachers Main Pay Scale (starting point is subject to relevant experience) plus SEN allowance.

Educational Communicators

L3 point 16-19 pro rata
Required as soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint Educational Communicators to work within our dedicated Hearing Impaired Department.

The successful applicants will be part of a team of Educational Communicators who support the inclusion of our hearing-impaired students within school. The role involves working with HI students in mainstream and one-to-one lessons to access academic curriculum, social and extra-curricular activities.

British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 is an essential requirement; BSL 2 and the experience of working with hearing impaired students are desirable attributes.

Hours will be from 30 hours to 34 hours per week, term time only. Salary starts from £17,419 pro rata, per annum. Actual salary to be confirmed, depending upon hours worked.
